An interesting discussion, but it seems to me that the title you've given it is misleading (unless the "limit" that the US has reached is a limit to its capacity to promote democracy abroad, but I don't see much evidence that that's what you meant.) Either you've mislabeled it, or if you picked the title first, seems to me you started off off-topic and never got back around to it.

Gentlemen,

I love that you both enjoy writing out your ideas this way, but I don't have tbe time to do these extensive ideas justice at the moment. Nevertheless, I do notice that, in my humble opinion, this is the wrong question. The People are not broken or fragmented so much as the system has been hacked and ceased to function as intended. America's institutions have been hijacked by corporations and (as Marx predicted, though I am no Marxist and do not advocate for that philosophy) they will precipitate collapse faster than any previous system before them.

It didn't happen overnight. It's been going on since the 1970s and has been facillitated by the growing corporate monopoly on all forms of communication. Government abdicated control of the mic and now they bow as well. The greatest communication tool ever, the Internet, is being censored to reverse the advances of the printing press.

And now I'm the one writing much more than I planned. Gotta get to work! Keep up the writing!
