What greater proof of the fall do you need than this? From all accounts a preventable tragedy. Preventable using multiple vectors even! Reading the news about this reminds me of reading Dr. Zhivago, completely despairing.
Did Mark van Doren ever comment on his son Charles’ participation in the quiz show cheating scandal? Seems like a course in moral philosophy should have prevented that.
Why is Israel presumed guilty, but not Hamas? Hamas is unquestioningly a terrorist organization. It maintained ruthless control of Gaza and Gazans for a decade, prior to slaughtering, raping and kidnapping innocent Jews on Oct 7, 2023.
These are not nice people, folks. These are psychopaths. Israel is doing what it has to do, because nobody else would do it.

Really? Are you against the genocide of Christians and Jews, and other Muslims by the Hamas, the Houthis, ISIS and Boko Harem, to name a few? Have you ever spoken out against them? Why not?
I've peeped your substack, and I must say that you are still a child. Good luck on your journey. You're a smart guy, and I'm sure you'll figure it out with some experience.
Brother, this one is a can't-miss. If ever there were a categorical imperative, it is NO genocide. Don't miss the mark.
If I have not spoken out against any genocide, let me take this opportunity to say that all genocides were, are, and will be categorically wrong. Insofar as I have spent more time criticizing the Gazan genocide, it has to do with what Epictetus has taught me: one must always remember what is in one's control.
The way I see it, part of the United States' foreign policy aligns with Israel's foreign policy. The US might even still be a democracy. Therefore, I have an increased chance, however small, of influencing the United States' involvement by engaging in persuasion and speaking out against it. So I do so...

Ah, yes, conspicuous condescension, a la ad hominin attack, trying to pass for wisdom.
So, are you in high school yet, or still in middle school?
No fighting and namecalling, please, guys -- stick to ideas and arguments.
Good point.
